Can ChatGPT and Perplexity actually see your site?

Nineteen checks on whether an answer engine can reach your site, work out what your company is, find anything worth quoting, and whether the technical basics are in place. Runs in about ten seconds. No email, no signup, no follow-up.

Check a site

We fetch three public files: your homepage, robots.txt and llms.txt. Nothing is stored and no address is recorded. Eight checks an hour.

Why this is not another SEO audit: search optimisation is about ranking a link. This is about whether a model can quote you when someone asks a question your site answers. The two overlap, but a site can rank well and still be invisible to an answer engine.

What gets checked

  • Reachable — whether GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and Google-Extended are permitted, and whether llms.txt exists.
  • Identifiable — organisation schema, linked entity profiles, and a description worth quoting.
  • Quotable — substantive content, question-shaped headings, and FAQ markup.
  • Technical — one canonical, Open Graph tags, a single H1, indexability, sitemap declaration, image alt text, breadcrumb schema and descriptive link text.

We implemented all nine on this site before building a tool that scores other people on them.
