Which Hijri calendar this uses
This converter uses the Umm al-Qura calendar — the official civil calendar of Saudi Arabia, used for government dates, Iqama expiry and most Gulf paperwork. It is a calculated (tabular) calendar, so it can differ by a day from the moon-sighting-based dates announced locally for Ramadan, Eid and Hajj.

Assumptions
- Uses the browser's built-in Umm al-Qura calendar (Intl API).
- Hijri → Gregorian searches for the matching date, so an invalid day (e.g. 30th of a 29-day month) will not resolve.
- Dates are calendar dates, not moon-sighting announcements.

Why does Eid differ from this by a day?
Religious observances follow moon sighting announced by local authorities; Umm al-Qura is a pre-computed civil calendar. A one-day difference is normal.
Which calendar do Saudi documents use?
Umm al-Qura — the same one used here. Pakistan's religious dates follow the Ruet-e-Hilal committee's sighting instead.
