Saudi GOSI Calculator 2026

Estimate GOSI contributions and net salary for Saudi and non-Saudi employees in Saudi Arabia.

Contributable salary (basic + housing, per GOSI rules).
SAR 0 net monthly salary after employee GOSI
Gross salary—
Employee contribution—
Net salary (take-home)—
Employer contribution (paid by company)—

In short

GOSI contributions for Saudi employees are 9.75% from the employee (9% pension + 0.75% SANED) and 11.75% from the employer (9% + 0.75% + 2% occupational hazards). For non-Saudi employees only the employer's 2% occupational-hazard contribution applies.

Who this is for: Employees and employers in Saudi Arabia checking GOSI deductions and net salary.

Not tax or legal advice. GOSI rates, the contributable salary base, and the definitions of included allowances change periodically and can be phased in gradually for existing employees under transitional rules. Confirm current rates with GOSI or a licensed Saudi payroll provider before relying on this figure.

How GOSI contributions work

The General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) requires monthly contributions from both employer and employee, calculated as a percentage of contributable salary (typically basic salary plus housing allowance, subject to a contribution ceiling).

Saudi nationals contribute to both pension (annuities) and unemployment insurance (SANED); their employer matches the pension contribution and also pays SANED and occupational hazard insurance.

Non-Saudi employees currently only have occupational hazard insurance paid by the employer — there is no employee or employer pension/SANED contribution for expatriate staff under current rules.

Assumptions

  • Saudi employees: 9% pension + 0.75% SANED from the employee; employer pays the same plus 2% occupational hazards.
  • Non-Saudi employees: only the employer's 2% occupational-hazard contribution.
  • Contribution ceilings and phased rate changes are not applied.

Worked example

Saudi national, SAR 10,000 gross salary

Employee contribution: 9.75% × 10,000 = SAR 975
Net salary = 10,000 − 975 = SAR 9,025
Employer contribution: 11.75% × 10,000 = SAR 1,175 (paid by the company, not deducted from the employee)

Frequently asked questions

Do expat employees pay GOSI?

Under current rules, non-Saudi employees do not contribute to pension or SANED — only the employer pays occupational hazard insurance on their behalf.

What salary is GOSI calculated on?

Typically basic salary plus housing allowance, up to a contribution ceiling set by GOSI. Other allowances are usually excluded — confirm the exact contributable salary definition for your case.

What is SANED?

SANED is Saudi Arabia's unemployment insurance scheme, funded by a small employee and employer contribution, which can pay benefits if a Saudi employee loses their job involuntarily.

Is there a salary ceiling for GOSI?

Yes — contributions are calculated on wage up to a ceiling set by GOSI (historically SAR 45,000 per month); this calculator does not apply the ceiling.

Do expats get anything back from GOSI?

Non-Saudis are covered only by the occupational-hazards branch, so there is no pension refund; they may receive compensation for a work injury.
