In short

Daraz charges sellers a category-based commission — from under 3% on packaging to around 18.5% on fashion — plus a payment gateway fee of about 2.25% and provincial sales tax on those fees. Net profit is the selling price minus commission, fees, tax, shipping and cost.

Who this is for: Daraz sellers checking real net profit per order after commission, fees and tax.

Not tax or legal advice. Commission rates are indicative figures from third-party summaries, not Daraz's own current rate card, and Daraz fees, campaign deductions and tax rates change periodically. Confirm your exact rate and fees in Daraz Seller Center before pricing a product.

What actually comes out of a Daraz order

The price a buyer pays is not what a seller keeps — Daraz deducts several layers before payout:

  • Commission: a category-specific percentage of the selling price, ranging widely — from under 3% on packaging materials to nearly 19% on fashion items.
  • Payment gateway fee: a processing charge on the transaction, commonly around 2.25% by default.
  • Provincial sales tax: Punjab, Sindh, KP and Balochistan each levy their own sales tax on services (commission and payment fees), typically 15-16%, charged on top of the fees themselves rather than on the sale price.
  • Shipping: if you're not using Daraz's Free Shipping Max programme or a co-funded voucher, you may bear some or all of the delivery cost yourself.

Campaign deductions (vouchers, Daraz Coins) can reduce your net further during promotions — this calculator covers standard, non-promotional pricing only.

Assumptions

  • Commission is the category rate you pick (indicative) or the custom rate you enter.
  • Payment gateway fee defaults to 2.25% and provincial sales tax on fees to 16%; both are editable.
  • Campaign vouchers, Free Shipping Max fees and returns are not included.

Worked example

Fashion item, PKR 2,500 selling price, PKR 1,200 cost, PKR 150 shipping borne by seller

Commission (18.5%): PKR 462.50
Payment gateway fee (2.25%): PKR 56.25
Sales tax on fees (16% of 518.75): PKR 83.00
Shipping: PKR 150
Total fees: PKR 751.75
Net profit: 2,500 − 1,200 − 751.75 = PKR 548.25 (21.9% margin)

Frequently asked questions

Where do I find my exact commission rate?

Log into Daraz Seller Center and check the commission structure for your specific category and sub-category — rates can differ even within a broad category like Fashion.

Does this include Daraz's FSM (Free Shipping Max) fee?

No — FSM has its own separate fee structure that varies by weight and zone. If you're enrolled in FSM, add that cost using the shipping field or check your Seller Center for the exact charge.

Why is the sales tax charged on fees, not on my selling price?

Provincial sales tax authorities (PRA/SRB/KPRA/BRA) tax the service — Daraz's commission and payment processing — not the underlying goods, so it's calculated on the fee amount, not the sale price.

When does Daraz pay sellers?

Payouts follow a weekly or bi-weekly cycle after delivery and the return window; check your Seller Center statement for the exact schedule.

Are returns charged to the seller?

Return shipping and handling can be charged back depending on the reason and your seller tier; budget for a return rate when pricing.
